I am publishing Progress Test 2 for you to do during the break.
Also, I have changed my my about the other assignment for you to do. In class, I'd mentioned some exercises to begin Unit 3.
But at the end of the class, Juan told me that he'd looked at my very first blog post of 25 January 2012 about Etta James and the song At Last and he really liked it. I made that blog to give students something interesting during the break last year and since it coincided with "Valentine's Day", I made it about love songs. I was going to give it for homework after your first day back - 1 day after Valentine´s Day - but, thinking about it, it's probably better to do it now. So go to my 1st post. Just go to the "archivos" on the right, click on 2012 and then on enero, which has only one post!
It has several parts:1- listening to the song and writing the lyrics without reading them (then checking)
2- writing something short about the picture
3- posting YOUR favorite love song in English and telling why you like it.

It´s certain that I like more love love songs in English, but if I have to decide, I choose this one.
Why do I like? Because "The Voice" of Frank Sinatra is only in the world. The song tells us a story between two strangers who fall in love when they begin to exchange glances, the other smiles...
It´s a beautiful love story at first sight!

It has double subtitle (english and spanish).
I think it´s really beautifull, yellow is the colour of the stars that shines for the person you love. The singer(Chris Martin) has a sweet voice, sometimes it seems that he whispers the letter of the song.

The song talk about a past love being compared by Romeo and Juliet. In the song they have to ask to girlfriend's father for permission to marry. In the videoclip it appears since they are seen furtively. It's a real love story!!

The lyric seems to talk about his life experiences. He is more poet than singer, and I really love their ingenious lyrics instead I don't understand everything (¿?).

I really love this song for a lot of reasons. I do love the music, Charles Aznavour’s voice, his passion and how to interpret it, how he transmits all his feelings. And I love the lyrics, about the true love for a true person, having different and sometimes opposite facets in her personality.
He does not idealize the woman he loves, he just understands and loves her in all her facets and personality.
He makes her seem like a very interesting woman and makes you to think he is a very intelligent man who knows how to be sensitive and be at her level.
About the comments on the picture:
I like this picture a lot. He is a very charismatic man, and I like his expression here, between tender and a bit embarrassed in this moment, so far away his normal attitude. I like the colour contrast, brilliant blue, black and white. And I like her skin and his hands.
