I would like to tell the 10 who attended - and I remember all your names and some facts! - that the event for Maya Angelou turned out beautifully. If there is a video clip on YouTube, I will post it.
Following with the related themes, I've decided to continue with the topic of urban legends, haunted places and scary stories, on the one hand and discrimination on the other.
I'm posting the following documents for you to print if possible:

2nd Day Report
ResponderEliminarAt the first part of the second day´s class, we did a conversation exercise talking among ourselves about some urban legends, paranormal phenomenons UFOs and similar topics. Of course, I took advantage from this exercise to tell how one night I had a little hallucination and I believed by a second that I was seeing a ghost. The next exercise was a listening about two spooky stories. In addition, Kate told us an urban legend set in `Casa de América´, in Madrid.
At the second part of the class, the main topic was music. We start reviewing some vocabulary related with popular music, and then we were speaking among ourselves about some our musical tastes. After this, we were playing to guess songs which Kate put in the CD player. Finally we did a listening exercise with the Freddy Mercury´s song `Great Pretender´.
I don´t know if this is the post where we have to put our songs or it is the next one. Anyway, I´ll put it here:

It is called "Basquet case"; by Warren Zevon (to be a basquet case= ser una causa perdida). It is a love song, but I don´t find it very romantic (but I love it). It talks about a man who has a mad girfriend and gets mad too.
Lyrics
My baby is a basket case
A bipolar mama in leather and lace
Face like an angel-she's a perfect waste
My baby is a basket case
Dracula's daughter, Calamity Jane
Smoke on the water, water on the brain
She's pretty as a picture-and totally crazed
My baby is a basket case
She's gonna make a madman outta me
She's gonna make a madman outta me
She's manic-depressive and schizoid, too
The friskiest psycho that I ever knew
We're paranoid lovers lost in space
My baby is a basket case
My baby's gonna celebrate
I'm being dragged through the nuthouse gates
Got my straitjacket on and I'm taking her place
My baby is a basket case
She finally made a madman outta me
She finally made a madman outta me
My baby made a madman outta me
She finally made a madman outta me
